Lisa's 1 to 1 individual, unique Grooming service allows you to make sure your pet is well taken care of, even when you’re not around. Lisa is City and Guilds qualified and has attended many workshops, seminars and webinars, not only on grooming but on behaviour, to keep her knowledge up to date. Lisa`s salon is a small dog specialist (and only grooms dogs under 25kg), particularly in Chinese Crested as Lisa has some of her own. Purely1 to 1 based, no cages or cabinet dryers and no other pets in the room at the same time. Lisa uses holistic techniques such as aromatherapy, calming music, or reggae music which has been proven to help keep pets more relaxed. Dogs are free to roam, snuggle up and relax after their grooms.
Due to being 1 to 1 this means Lisa is able to groom dogs who do not like other dogs and those who are nervous.
Each Dog is unique, whether you like your dog trimmed to breed standard or a design entirely of your own, I will always take the time to discuss and understand your dogs needs as an individual.
Lisa is constantly researching into new products and looking into ingredients lists. Lisa will not compromise quality for cost and only use products which are Vegan, Palm oil free from alcohol, parabens, soaps & dyes which can cause irritation and itchiness. Lisa currently uses For All Dog Kind Shampoos
Critterz Grooming uses a state of the art hydrobath, the hydrobath spray head produces a unique hydro-combing action that massages and stimulates the skin, improving blood circulation and tired muscles. This could be beneficial for arthritis sufferers and older dogs.

Grooming is an important aspect of your dog’s health and well-being, every breed has different requirements when it comes to maintaining their coats but its important to stick to a schedule suitable for your dog’s coat type, grooming style and lifestyle.
As every dog is different in size, has a different coat and different grooming requirements it is hard to give a definite price for every breed. Please contact Lisa for an estimated price for your Dog.

Puppy Grooms
Once your puppy has had their injections its a good idea to get them used to being groomed. Short regular appointments for puppies helps create happy, relaxed dogs being groomed as they get older. The sooner they are associated with the noise of dryers and feel of brushes and clippers the quicker they learn that grooming is a way of life and a pleasant experience, not one to be feared.
Lisa spends time earning the trust of your pup, positive reinforcement is so important in these early stages.

Questions and Answers
Do we Leave our dog with you?
Yes. You will bing your dog to the salon and leave your dog with Lisa and she will give you a collection time. If you are a new client and would like to pop in for a visit with our dog before your appointment then just ask lisa and she will arrange a visit.
Dogs are Groomed on a 1 to 1 basis so they wont be here all day. Normally its between 1 and 3 hours depending on the dog. There are no caes in the salon so your Dog can free roam.
If your dog has seperation anxiety, yu may be able to stay with your dog (at Lisa's discretion), or it may be that you require a home groomer.
What if our Dog is Nervous?
Lisa is very calm and patient and works with many nervous dogs and dogs that have had bad previous experiences. The salon is small and relaxed and Lisa has a doggy treat bag with her at all times. Sometimes it may take more regular visits for your dog to gain the trust needed to carry out the groom. Lisa can work with yu to shedule regular visits and a grooming plan to make your dog happy with the grooming process. Lisa only uses positive reinforcement methods.
What if my Dog doesnt like other Dogs?
We are 1 to 1 so no other dogs are in the salon at the same time as your pet. We dont allow our own dogs into the salon.
My pet has allegies/skin issues?
Al products used in the salon are vegan, SLS and Paraben Free. 97% natural ingredients. All treats used in the salon are wheat free, no chicken or beef (you are welcome to bring your own). If your dog has prescription shampoo then your welcome to bring that with you an Lisa will use that on yur dog.
Dog Grooming Contract
All Clients are required to read and sign the contract. This wil be emailed to you on confimation of your booking.
